A Level 2 Nonviolent Communication training with certified trainer Leah Boyd

This training will meet on three consecutive days::

For many, conflict is a scary word bringing to mind intractable differences, painful divides, and even violence. Few of us have had the opportunity to experience conflicts being handled skillfully. And yet, conflict is actually a very normal part of human life and relationship….we don’t always see things the same way and sometimes our strategies bump into each other. Would you love to be more skillful and present during disagreement?
In this interactive 8 hour training we will explore conflict by
Looking at the advantages and disadvantages of engaging when we disagree
Becoming aware of our own reactivity and practicing skills for calming our own nervous systems during conflict
Honing our ability to listen deeply even when we don’t agree
Learning and practicing de-escalation skills rooted in Nonviolent Communication
Making requests that honor our needs while holding the needs of the other as well
This training will be rooted in the foundations of Nonviolent Communication and will also draw from the BREATHE model of de-escalation developed by CNVC trainer Ceri Buckmaster for use by Extinction Rebellion. In addition, this training will be informed by the trainer’s ten plus years of experience as a mediator and facilitator in a wide variety of conflict situations including family matters court.
Fee: $100 per per person
Prerequisite: Participants must have completed a Level 1 NVC Training or it’s equivalent.
